Top Causes of Male Pattern Baldness, and What You can Do.
Hair loss can be stressful, which is why most people will do anything to ensure their full luscious head of hair remains on their scalps for years to come. Male pattern baldness can bring a wave of heartache to even the least vain men. Even celebrities aren't immune. Yes you can blame your genes or your hectic job, but that won’t stop that hairline from receding.
Causes of Hair Loss in Men
There can be several reasons why you are seeing more of your scalp than usual in the mirror. In men, a receding hairline is indicative of sensitivity to androgens or the male sex hormone in the scalp. The area where this hormone is concentrated the most, sheds hair since it actually thins out the hair follicles making them weak or shrink. Ultimately, the hair on the sensitive part of the scalp becomes so weak that it loses its grip and sheds. Plus, the follicles become so small that they are unable to grow new hair.
Men who are in their 20s and 30s typically suffer from hair loss which also follows a set pattern. First, they see a receding hairline and then the top of their scalp starts to show through as the hair there thins out. The two sides then meet and form a U shaped bald spot that looks quite unattractive. Since the hair that kept its grip fails to grow quickly, the scalp remains predominantly bald.
This condition is also known as alopecia and is treatable with supplements. It cannot be cured, but the hair can be coaxed to grow more quickly and thus cover the bald spot.
Premature baldness can make anyone tear out their remaining locks with frustration but luckily, it can be overcome as well. Besides medication or hair lost supplementation, a healthy lifestyle will also go a long way in ensuring you retain a full head of hair.
